Duo Dahlia combines the timeless instruments of flute and harp to bring audiences a rich aural soundscape of beautiful and unique timbres. The duo performs repertoire from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and 20th century eras, as well as promoting works by living composers. Duo Dahlia is also committed to promoting works by diverse composers. Based in the Chicagoland area, Duo Dahlia has performed in various chamber recitals, competitions, and arts festivals. Past clientele include Epiphany Center for the Arts, Schaumburg Library, and the DeKalb Library. Each performance brings together the diverse solo careers of the members with historically informed performance practices.
Flutist

Gianna Capobianco is a freelance flutist and teacher based in the Greater Chicagoland Area. She has a wide range of performing experience and plays with several local ensembles including Fox Valley Symphony and Wheaton Municipal Band. Gianna is the Flute Instructor at Aurora University and Elgin Community College and maintains a thriving private studio. She serves as Program Chair for the Chicago Flute Club and has written several articles for the CFC’s journal, Pipeline. Gianna received a Master of Music in Flute Performance and a Performer’s Certificate from Northern Illinois University under Scott Metlicka and a Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance from Elmhurst University under Jennie Oh Brown.
Harpist

Abigail Stoner is a concert harpist and pianist in the Chicagoland area. She is principal harpist with the Fox Valley Orchestra, and has performed with many other groups including the Illinois Valley Symphony Orchestra, and the Kishwaukee Symphony. She is the Vice President of The Historical Harp Society, an international organization dedicated to promoting all facets of the harp in its historical context . In addition to performing, she is the owner and instructor at Scherzando School of Music. Abigail has a two master’s degrees from Northern Illinois University: a Master of Music in Harp Performance and a Master of Music in Music History. In addition, she has also obtained a Performer’s Certificate.
